Riau community has been one month suffered from forest and land fires that occurred in region a few companies from August until September 2015 and already one month also hundreds of students who pioneered by Islamic student university associations / Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI) Pekanbaru held a demonstration in the capital city of Riau Province to the government in order to impose sanctions against companies that cause prolonged smoke haze in Riau province.
If there is no serious commitment from companies that have been the cause of the smoke haze in Riau, then the Islamic Students Association (HMI) appealed to all the students university and the community to jointly surrounded the location of the company which has been the cause of environmental degradation in Riau.
Syu’ib as a chairman of Islamic Student University Association (HMI) Pekanbaru ascertain, if the lack of courage of the companies that are currently suspected burning forests to make a joint commitment in order to preserve the environment. Then the HMI will perform demonstration by bringing thousands of people and students university to the offices of the companies involved. (Iman/HMI)
